If Trump Succeeds At Acquiring Greenland, Will He Stop There?

While United States ruler Donald Trump currently has his sights firmly on Greenland, based on the rhetoric coming out of the White House, some say he won’t stop there. Once he has acquired Greenland, experts say he could likely set his sights on the resource-rich country of Iceland.

Followed by an operation in Venezuela in which the U.S. captured Caracas’s leader, Nicolas Maduro, Trump has renewed efforts and the propaganda necessary to attempt a takeover of Greenland.  The Trump administration has now taken over access to Venezuela’s oil reserves while denying access to America’s adversaries, initially saying that this “takeover” was to cull “narco terrorism.”

Greenland is currently ruled by Denmark, but the Arctic nation is said by the U.S. to hold a strategic position in the geopolitical atmosphere. But according to former US Army officer and military commentator Stanislav Krapivnik, that won’t be good enough to satisfy the imperialism permeating the current U.S. ruling class.

Krapivnik said in an interview with RT on Tuesday that taking Greenland will fail to satisfy the war-mongering country.  “When the US gets Greenland, it’s not going to be satisfied,” he said. He also suggested that Iceland may be the next country in the U.S.’s sights.

“Iceland has rare-earth minerals. It has aluminum… And it has a huge amount of geothermal energy that Trump’s backers need for their data centers that they want to build. It’s a huge, cheap energy source – localized energy source, of course,” Krapivnik was quoted as saying.

He added that it was ridiculous to even believe that the U.S. needs Greenland for “security” against a Russian or Chinese takeover. Neither country has threatened to send military force to Greenland in order to take it over, while the U.S. has.
