“Lioness” fans are absolutely hooked as season three rolls on.
The hit series created by Taylor Sheridan focuses on the shadowy world of black operations in the CIA and the military.
Season three started on August 2nd on Paramount+, and the season premiere was nothing short of epic. Joe and her team found themselves in Ukraine hunting a Russian agent.

That was only the start. Joe was later kidnapped and it’s officially been off to the races from there.

The major reveal in episode three of season three – “The Bear Is Infected” – focuses heavily on how deeply the infiltration efforts into the U.S. government have gone.

During an epic scene, Joe (Zoe Saldaña) and Oleksandra, who is not yet fully trusted, walk the team through the different strategies America’s enemies use to get sources in the most sensitive areas of the government, military and education.

There’s also an all-time great “Lioness” moment when it’s revealed Joe played a role in the death of infamous terrorist leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi in Iraq. That’s a hat tip to the biggest fans of the SOF world.
It’s also revealed during the episode that at least one U.S. Senator is compromised by foreign forces.
The ending scene of the episode will also chill viewers to the bone as it perfectly sets the stakes of what’s coming, but I won’t say more than that.

- I think it’s safe to assume Cruz and Josie will be honey-potting someone, looking at the trailer scene.
- Joe not rescued yet makes me nervous
- I found them giving each other s**t for their former branches hilarious
- The thing I love about this season so far is how deep they are going into the strategy side of espionage/war. Even that simple sentence in this episode from Oleksandra explaining the bear, tiger, wolf pack analogy is truly fascinating. Have to admit, the final scene had me jump from the seat when I realised it was Joe and not the Russian guy they snatched or Oleksandra. Each week I get worse and worse feelings about Joe’s eventual demise. Those guys who abducted her look like the top 0.01% when it comes to torture/information extraction.
- That setup at the end of the episode was very creative lol
- What has me confused is at the end. The Russians took Joe because they’re looking for the double agent or they figured out that the US were the ones who took the asset from Ukraine.
- man what the hell kind of torture technique was that at the end
- What if Joe has been abducted my [sic[ another group/team (not sure the proper term) within the US military and/or other defense sectors that have been “infected” as oleksandra stated and that’s how they knew where to find her? I’m sure there are holes in this theory, but just a thought!
