It’s time for another edition of Saturday Screencaps where we dive into everything that happened last night while you were out on the patio Respecting Summer.

Let’s get started with a trip to Indianapolis where Sophie Cunningham had herself a night. Her and the Fever pulled out a 98-87 win and then Sophie went right to Clayton’s Country Bar in downtown Indy where she got up on the bar and belted out Toby Keith’s classic, “Courtesy of the Red, White & Blue,” like a real patriot. I’ll continue to say it: You don’t love Sophie Cunningham enough.

This isn’t fake emotion. This is a woman who doesn’t care what the disgusting LIBS think of her. She wants dudes out of female sports and she loves this great country. Suck it, lefties.

How did I know that Sophie ended her night at Clayton’s singing her heart out? I had a text message waiting on me this morning from a source I met during my Big Ten Championship game back in December. My buddy Ballystar and I were in Hooters late one night on that trip. We sat down at the bar to suck down some beers. It was just another night. Then, a guy who looked like he could be in ZZ Top sat down next to me.

One thing led to another and I’m talking to this guy. It turns he’s a massive fan of OutKick. He’s a fan of Clay Travis. Highly intelligent. I tested him on OutKick content and he passed the test.

ZERO BS. JUST DAKICH. TAKE THE DON’T @ ME PODCAST ON THE ROAD. DOWNLOAD NOW!

I learned ZZ went to West Point. A day or so later, I did my due diligence and I realized this guy who looked like he could go on a world tour playing a slide guitar is a Great American® who has seen and done a few things around the world, if you know what I mean.

That’s who is texting me Sophie Cunningham news at midnight. God bless Sophie. God bless having well-placed sources. And never forget how fortunate we are to live in the greatest country in the history of the world.

I need my head examined

This morning, after publishing this column, I’ll be out on the road south to Dayton, OH for the day where I’ll hang with my dad to celebrate his 71st birthday and I’ll see my mom. The only issue: there’s more rain rolling into SW Ohio and eastern Indiana. Golf is out. The course is about 10 miles east of a flood warning area.

And now, there’s a massive blob of rain heading right for this area where it’s been raining for five days.

Based on the reports out of Dayton this morning, areas along I-70 near the Indiana line could see 2–3 inches of rain per hour in the initial burst and 3–6 inches of rain total isn’t out of the question.

Don’t worry, I’ll turn around so we don’t drown.

Those names that High Noon-drinking suburban moms give their boys like Kolton and Kommander might actually be strategic

– Phil in Florida emails: As a former hiring manager that had to call people in for interviews, I’d say that an incorrectly spelled name starting with a K, is more likely to get a call back for an interview than names close to anything Key and Peele openly mocked. Myself and many hiring managers I know have passed on candidates just because we had no idea how to say their names. None of them btw were foreign names, these were a bit more urban.

That’s a great window sticker

– Doug J. is impressed:

Stop signs

– Rory M. warns: Get a “Disregarding a Stop Sign” ticket one time. It’s regarded as a moving violation. You’ll be out several hundred dollars and your insurance will go up way more than for standard speeding. Taking an extra 1 or 2 Mississippi to make sure you make a clear trunk drop won’t seem like a big deal anymore.

Kinsey: I know that Doug in Springfield, OH isn’t telling people to run stop signs as a habit. He’s talking about stop signs out in the open fields of Ohio after the corn is cut down.

####################

It’s a Saturday. That’s it. Let’s get rolling this morning. Stay dry. Stay safe. Turn around, don’t drown. Go out and RESPECT SUMMER. I’ll have to do it with a rain coat on.

And don’t forget, I’ll be back tomorrow morning to handle SeanJo’s shift. He’s on vacation.
