LionSteel Preps Skinnier Version of the Skinny

LionSteel is making an even skinnier version of the Skinny this year, called the Emmet. This knife packs a lot of cutting power into a small, integral frame.

The Skinny was a 2024 release for the LionSteel – first showed off at SHOT Show, which is where its little brother stepped into the spotlight this year. The Skinny was classic LionSteel, not only in its clean-cut, modern styling, but in its SOLID construction – LionSteel’s designation for an integral folder, a sub-genre they pioneered in the production space and have remained interested in ever since. Although not the biggest knife the Maniago company produced, it was no pipsqueak either, with a 3.31-inch drop point blade.

The Emmet inherits the classic good looks of the Skinny; in fact, it’s a spitting image of that knife, just smaller. Its blade has been drawn down below the 3-inch mark, measuring 2.83 inches. There’s the same hard-workin’ drop point on display, made here from MagnaCut for high-level performance in all three key metrics (those would be edge retention, toughness, and stain resistance if you’re new ’round these parts…).

Inherited too is the SOLID integral frame construction; the Emmet’s aluminum handle is one single piece, with a frame lock cut into the off-side and capped with a steel insert to handle the actual interface point between blade and locking arm. As you might imagine, the Emmet is a very light knife indeed, with a listed weight of 1.76 oz. This is a lightweight little gent’s folder for sure.
