Iran launched its first missile and drone attack on the United Arab Emirates since a ceasefire with the United States took effect on April 8th. It also fired two drones at a ship in the Strait of Hormuz, UAE authorities said Monday.

Iran Says The US Is Lying About Striking Iranian Boats

This news comes as the US announced it will temporarily pause “Project Freedom,” a “humanitarian effort” aimed at guiding vessels and oil tankers safely through the Strait of Hormuz, as the blockades affect global oil supply.

The U.S. military said two commercial vessels safely transited the key waterway Monday under the Project Freedom initiative announced by President Trump. However, Iran fired missiles at ships being protected during the operation. Trump said that U.S. forces have destroyed seven Iranian small boats for trying to interfere with the military operation.

Trump: US Will “Guide” Neutral Ships Through Strait of Hormuz

Negotiations appear to have stalled as Trump ends the humanitarian effort. Although the US somehow thinks that talks are advancing. The US continues to make what can only be called poor decisions when it comes to a war it started during joint strikes with Israel on February 28th.

Iran’s chief negotiator in talks with the US warned Tuesday that his country has “not even started” in its standoff over the Strait of Hormuz. “We know full well that the continuation of the status quo is intolerable for America; whilst we have not even started yet,” Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said in a social media post.

Ghalibaf, who’s also the speaker of Iran’s parliament, said the actions of the U.S. and its allies had put shipping security at risk but said their “malign presence will diminish,” accoridng to a report by CBS News.
