The Vatican’s Warning: AI Possesses A Shadow Of Evil

A  document titled Antiqua et nova, released by the Vatican that examines the relationship between human and machine intelligence, came with a warning that deceptive digital content could “gradually undermine the foundations of society. “When used in ways that respect human dignity and promote the well-being of individuals and communities, they can contribute positively to the human vocation. Yet, as in all areas where humans are called to make decisions, the shadow of evil also looms here,” Antiqua et nova reads.

Pope Francis has previously voiced concerns about artificial intelligence and its technological developments. In a message to the World Economic Forum in Davos, he warned that automated systems could worsen a “crisis of truth” by generating content indistinguishable from human-created material. AI has been a hot topic at Davos this year, with many technology firms promoting their products at the forum.

Computer Scientist Warns That Artificial Intelligence Could Turn Against Humanity

This means that the Vatican isn’t releasing this document in order to help people stave off a robot rebellion or to aid in free speech. In fact, it’s worried about “misinformation,” or things that could leave human beings questioning the power structure being fortified on the planet right now. Antiqua et nova addresses the ethical implications of AI in sectors such as labor, healthcare, and education. It also highlights the dangers posed in warfare, particularly the development of automated weapons. The document emphasizes that life-and-death decisions should never be left to machines, according to a report on the document by RT.

“Life and death” decisions are already in the hands of those at the top of the power structure, meaning some people already don’t have a say. In fact, the Trump administration recently announced it would use AI to create mRNA vaccines for the metabolic disease of cancer.

A dystopian future with a complete technocracy is unfolding, and most people are too wrapped up in which ruler will control them for four years to look much beyond what’s right in front of them.

Scientist Claims Artificial Intelligence Could Kill Us In 200 Years

Warnings of the dangers of artificial intelligence have continued to surface as more and more people use it, aiding its ability to learn and “evolve.”

A researcher and SETI (search for extraterrestrial intelligence) leader has said that he believes that artificial intelligence must soon be regulated by the ruling class. Michael Garrett, who is a radio astronomer at the University of Manchester and the director of the Jodrell Bank Centre for Astrophysics, said that AI could wipe out humanity in 200 years.

However, the ruling classes are more likely to use AI to their advantage and control the masses instead of stopping it from doing harm. Already, industries are being taken over.

According to Harvard Business School professor Karim Lakhani, who has been studying AI and machine learning in the workplace for years, the public has come to expect companies that deliver seamless, AI-enhanced experiences and transactions. That means that leaders need to “embrace the technology,” learn to harness its potential, and develop use cases for their businesses. “The places where you can apply it?” he says. “Well, where do you apply thinking?”
