The Sencut Squiggy Goes Big and Bold

We’ve talked about a new We Knife model, a new Civivi piece, and now we’re completing the trilogy by talking about the Squiggy, an incoming folder from entry-level label Sencut. The Squiggy is, fundamentally, a straightforward user, but it spices things up with an endearingly stylized look.

Actually, for as cute as the Squiggy undoubtedly is, this is a pretty sizable piece of edged hardware. The Squiggy’s blade is a big ol’ drop point, measuring 3.89 inches. That’ll make it a hard use or EDC Plus blade for most, something that can be taken out and used hard with the knowledge that it will be able to stand up to the punishment. The 9Cr18MoV blade steel, while by no means at the forefront of performance in today’s steel world, is absolutely reliable, with adequate edge retention, high stain resistance, and the ability to be touched up with ease, no matter what kind of setup is at hand.

The Squiggy’s squiggle looks good in different colors

But the Squiggy obviously gets its name from the handle, which made from two two-tone scales: a top layer of one color, and a bottom layer that is seen around the edge of the chamfer and, most notably, in a squiggly cutout down the center of each scale. It’s a fun flourish that isn’t characteristic of knives in the size or price class that the Squiggy belongs to. You will also notice, in a cutout of its own, a button lock on the Squiggy’s show-side, for easy and fidget friendly closing.

Looking even further beyond the looks, the Squiggy’s handle has a few other elements of note: there’s a reversible pocket clip that slots nicely into a small cutout at the butt-end of the knife; like many clips on many knives in the We/Civivi/Sencut family, the Squiggy’s pocket clip is configured for deep carry too, something that’s especially welcome on a larger knife like this. Speaking of carry, the Squiggy comes in with a solid but not onerous weight of 5.35 oz.

The Squiggy will be available soon.
