I was happy to find several nice rimfire options at SHOT Show this year, and I also noticed an uptick in companies stepping back into the rimfire arena offering some nice choices for your target shooting, small game hunting and good old plinking. Here are my five favorite picks.
Winchester Xpert
The focus of the designers of the Winchester Xpert was to focus on accuracy and adding features to enhance the shooting experience from the new trigger system to the sights and other upgrades.
The new Rimfire M.O.A. trigger is a three-lever design and offers zero creep, zero take-up and zero over-travel for a light, crisp pull. A precision button-rifled barrel, a semi-match Bentz chamber and hemispherical firing pin are added to create a robust experience.

Ruger 10/22 Carbon Fiber with White Speckle Black Magpul MOE X-22
In a collaboration with Magpul, Ruger is excited to introduce the 10/22Ò Carbon Fiber. The Magpul MOE X-22 stock is a lightweight and rugged stock and has M-LOK slots and Magpul’s exclusive TSP texture on the grip.
The cold hammer-forged fitted in a carbon fiber sleeve and features a ½x28-tpi threaded muzzle and is also fitted with a removable thread cap.

Savage Revel DLX

At first look, it could seem as though the new Taurus TX-22 is the same TX-22 that has been out for a while, but it has been redesigned to now hold a remarkable 22-round capacity. Compared to msot standard .22 LR pistols which usually hold between 10 to 12 rounds, it’s easy to see why the Taurus TX-22 is garnering a new host of fans.
