We hit 2025 running this year, with SHOT Show itself and a stream of new releases and announcements following in its wake, right up to the current day. Naturally we missed a few late 2024 releases so, when we get the chance, we want to highlight them. One such release is the MiniSada, a modified, smaller version of the Slimsada.

The Slimsada debuted in the fall of 2022 alongside a couple of other models. Gerber’s line can be split roughly into budget-oriented and premium folders; the Slimsada was an entry into the former category. It offered users a modified sheepsfoot blade under 3.5 inches long, made from D2, opened with a flipper tab, and secured with a frame lock. It was easy to see the Slimsada as an affordable workhorse, capable of both big and little chores.

There’s an overtravel stop to keep the frame lock healthy

The MiniSada keeps a lot of the general lines of its bigger brother, but with some notable changes in place beyond its smaller size. Speaking of, the blade here has been scaled down to 3.13 inches, cutting down the overall footprint but leaving the capabilities more or less intact. The blade shape has been altered here, turned into a low-slung clip point. Again, it shouldn’t change the way in which the MiniSada is used, and D2 steel has been kept for equivalent edge retention and toughness.

The handle shape is nearly identical on the MiniSada, albeit with a front scale made from aluminum rather than the Micarta we saw on the original. Turn the knife over and you’ll see the all-steel off-side with the frame lock, which also has an overtravel prevention plate attached to it. Gerber lists the MiniSada’s weight as 2.5 oz., which means it will be quite a painless pocket carry, although the clip cannot be switched to the front side – bad news for lefties.

The MiniSada is available now.
