SIG Sauer recently launched the Romeo RS, a new series of micro-compact, open-emitter, slide-mounted red-dot sights. These narrow RMSc footprint compatible units (compact models) or the slightly larger DeltaPoint Pro footprint (Pro models) are intended to deliver a reflex sight that’s both durable and affordable. The “RS” in the name of this new red-dot sight stands for “reinforced steel” and references the sight’s robust but cost-efficient construction. Whereas most reflex sights on the market are machined from aluminum, the Romeo RS’ polymer reinforced steel construction is an alternative approach and a substitute for the typical aluminum housing.

The new Romeo RS family has extremely competitive retail prices ranging between $169 to $219, depending on the specific model. The collection consists of four different units, with two compact (P365 width) sights and “Pro” models (P320 width) that have larger windows. SIG Sauer states that part of the goal in developing the Romeo RS product family was to be able to offer a sight with a cost that overlapped that of high-end iron sight sets meant for handguns.

SIG-Sauer Romeo RS Sight Features:

  • Four different models, two Pro and two Compacts, with DeltaPoint Pro and Shield RMSc footprints respectively
  • Reticles include 3 MOA, 6 MOA or circle/dot
  • Hybrid design featuring a skeletonized steel chassis, molded into a high-strength polymer housing
  • Molded glass aspheric lens for a distortion-free sight picture
  • High efficiency point source LED emitter with 8 individual brightness settings
  • Large side control button for easy reticle adjustments
  • Convenient side-mounted CR1632 battery tray with security screw for easy access without removing the optic from the firearm
  • Minimum continuous runtime of 20,000 hours (at medium setting, dot-only)
  • MOTAC (Motion Activated Illumination) that powers up when motion is detected, powering down when inactive
  • Designed, developed, tested and assembled in the USA
  • Fully backed by SIG Sauer’s infinite guarantee

The new SIG-Sauer Romeo RS red-dot sights are designed and assembled in the United States, at SIG Sauer’s ElectroOptics division in Oregon. To learn more about the new SIG Sauer Romeo RS sights or other products the company offers, visit sig-sauer.com.
