The Safariland Group has just launched a new lightweight OWB (outside-the-waistband) holster: the Gravity holster. This new holster features a wide, open-top design that allows for easy draws and also accommodates handguns with low-cut slides. The external outer shell of the Gravity holster is manufactured from Safariland’s thermo-molded plastic material and wrapped in a durable cordura-nylon material like many other Safariland tactical and duty holsters such as the Safariland 6000 series. In addition, the external contours of the Gravity holster are shaped to a low profile and worked over to be friendly for everyday carry.

The Gravity holster also includes a passive trigger-guard retention system that is end-user adjustable and helps keep the gun in place during vigorous activity.

“With the Gravity, we wanted to offer more than just function,” said Eric Gasvoda, vice president and general manager of duty gear for Safariland. “This holster delivers the trusted security and comfort our users expect—but with Cordura wrap options, it also allows them to express their own style without sacrificing comfort or performance”.

Safariland Gravity Holster Features:

  • Adjustable cant
  • Fully covered trigger guard
  • Adjustable tension for passive trigger guard retention allows for customized draw resistance
  • Front sight clearance is .406 inch to accommodate taller sights common as back up sights on pistols with slide mounted red-dot optics
  • Holster is designed to accommodate red-dot equipped pistols
  • Accommodates any Safariland three-hole pattern holster mount
  • Fits belt widths up to 1.75 inches
  • IDPA and USPSA approved for competition use
  • MSRP starts at $65

The Gravity holster is currently available for pistol models from the following manufacturers: Taurus, Glock, Shadow Systems, SIG Sauer, Springfield Armory and Wilson Combat.
