Patriot Ordnance Factory has just unveiled a new lightweight large-frame AR-pattern carbine, the POF Light Modular Rifle (LMR) Base. This carbine sports a 16.5-inch barrel and is chambered for the .308 Win. round. The furniture and handguards on the rifle are low profile and lightweight in order to keep the weight down and to ensure that the POF LMR Base is easy to handle. Patriot Ordnance Factory built this rifle around a 16.5-inch long 416R stainless steel barrel with 6R rifling and a 1:8 -inch twist. In addition, it uses a mid-length gas system and a Patriot Ordnance Factory low profile non-adjustable gas block to cycle its action.

“Following the success of our recent P-15 Base Rifle launch in 5.56 NATO, we saw an opportunity to offer our customers a .308 [.308 Win.] entry-level option that meets our standards for quality and reliability,” said Jeremy Selting, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at POF-USA. “At $1,359, the LMR Base provides the features and dependability that both new and seasoned enthusiasts are looking for.”
