Smith & Wesson has recently added three new M&P 10 M2.0 handgun models to its current catalog to expand consumer choice states where residents must deal with onerous magazine capacity restrictions. All three models have been available in Smith & Wesson’s lineup for some time with larger-capacity magazines and are now being sold with 10-round magazines.

Combined with the surging rise in popularity of the 10mm pistol cartridge over the past few years, Smith & Wesson now has 10mm handgun models with factory default 10-round magazines:

  • Smith & Wesson M&P 10 M2.0 CORE Performance Center
  • Smith & Wesson M&P 10 M2.0 CORE 4.6-inch model
  • Smith & Wesson M&P 10 M2.0 CORE 4-inch model

Each of these three 10mm models are built around the standard and ergonomic M&P M2.0 polymer frame. In addition to this, all three have slides that are optics-ready from the factory with Smith & Wesson’s CORE pattern. As an added convenience, the pistols ship with taller suppressor-height tritium night sights which make it easier for shooters to use backup iron sights while having a slide-mounted red-dot sight. Finally, these M&P M2.0 models also include the newer flat-bladed trigger that has made its way into the entire M&P M2.0 fleet after replacing the original segmented-crescent. curved trigger found in early M&P M2.0 models.

The 10mm cartridge was designed in the early 1980s after Jeff Cooper collaborated with Norma of Sweden. With an advancement in powder and projectile technologies, it has seen a resurgence across the industry. Many of the biggest names in firearms now offer 10mm handguns.
