Mossberg is introducing three new versions of the 590M magazine-fed pump action guns. These new Professional Series platform include two shotguns with either black or orange synthetic furniture that are available in compact models and models with Magpul furniture attached and a Breacher firearm. Each has a Cerakote protective finish on barrel, receiver and magazine tube, and each of these 12-gauge, 2.75-inch platforms are fed from the first production double-stack magazine made for pump actions.
Mossberg’s 590M Mag-Fed design uses integral stabilizing ribs on the magazine which engage directly to notches engineered into the receiver for a positive lock-up. The all-steel, ambidextrous magazine release button and housing are strategically positioned in front of the trigger guard and will not interfere with cycling of the action. Accessory 590M double-stack magazines are available in 5-, 10-, 15- and 20-round capacities to provide for greater capacity in shorter magazine length than competitor’s single-stack design and the ability to quickly reload or change shell types.
The double-stack 590M magazine is constructed with hardened-steel feed lips, over-molded steel shell ramps and an anti-cant, rounded follower to ensure reliable feeding. Additional features include a molded external shell, proprietary self-lubricating polymer magazine body, heavy-duty ASTM-A-228 music-wire magazine, removable floor plate and a durable black oxide finish on the steel components.
590M Pump-Action Shotgun Professional Series Features:
- 5-inch heavy-walled, cylinder bore barrel.
- Metal rear optimized ghost ring and front fiber optic sights equipped with protective low-profile wings.
- Optic-ready receiver (RMSc footprint) which is covered by certain patents and patents pending. Simply remove the rear optimized ghost ring sight for access to optic cut.
- Cerakote tungsten metal exterior finish for better corrosion and abrasion resistance.
- Two stock options utilizing stock spacer systems for customization.
- Magpul SGA variable length-of-pull (LOP) stock adjusts in .5-inch increments from 12.25 to 14.25 inches.
- Compact stock features a one-inch insert for adjustment from 12 to 13 inches.
- Magpul MOE fore-end with an extended length with front and rear hand stops and M-Lok slots for ease of adding accessories. The Compact models feature a traditional corncob-style fore-end.
- Drilled and tapped receiver.
- One 10-round detachable, double-stack magazine included. Accessory magazines available in 5, 10, 15, and 20 round capacities (sold separately).
590M Breacher Professional Series Features:
- 5-inch heavy-walled, stand-off barrel with cylinder bore.
- One-piece construction of the stand-off barrel, machined integrally to the barrel.
- Mossberg’s Aftershock bird’s head grip for minimal recoil and a firm grip.
- Cerakote tungsten metal exterior finish for added corrosion and abrasion resistance.
- Oversized and redesigned top-mounted safety with highly visible red indicator and easily operated by right or left-handed shooters.
- Compact fore end that utilizes M-Lok compatible slots for mounting accessories to sides and bottom.
- Drilled and tapped receiver.
- One five-round detachable, double-stacked magazine. Accessory magazines available in 10, 15, and 20 round capacities.
