Kimber America has just launched five new double-stack, single-action pistols under the Kimber 2K11 Pro banner. Double-stack 1911 pistols, especially those chambered for 9mm, have surged in popularity over the past few years. The industry has responded in kind with gun manufacturers building their own takes on this classic 1911-based design across different price points. It wasn’t long before Kimber launched its interpretation of what this kind of full-size performance-based pistol ought to be.

2K11 stainless-steel slides, frames and barrels are all machined at Kimber’s Troy, AL, facility. The Kimber 2K11 design is built around a 7075-aluminum alloy grip module, with polymer grip modules also being available under the new 2K11 Pro line. All Kimber 2K11s count on a proprietary shoulder that prevents over-insertion of the magazine which can break the ejector on a pistol.

The 2K11 Pro lineup gives customers five different finish options, with some models available in both 9mm and .45 ACP. 2K11 Pro finishes include Coyote, Stainless, Eclipse, Royal, and Minotaur. Coyote and Minotaur 2K11 Pro trims feature aluminum grip modules while the Stainless, Eclipse and Royal will all come with the MJD carbon fiber and Kevlar molded grips.

Kimber’s 2K11 Pro Features:

  • Kimber GT Signature trigger
  • Custom Aluminum or MJD polymer grip
  • External extractor
  • Toolless guide rod
  • Stan Chen Customs magazine well on select models
  • Improved internal magazine well geometry
  • Optics-ready slides

Pedi Gega, Director of Product Development, Assembly and Finishing for Kimber says, “The 2K11 Pro is a blend of cutting-edge performance with refined aesthetics. Our latest home defense and EDC pistol stands as the apex of protection and precision engineered to perform when it matters most. Plus, like our 2K11 and Next Gen 1911 each one is crafted one at a time by our remarkable technicians to turn heads even when they are holstered.”

Pricing these new pistols varies by model. For more information about Kimber’s range of 1911s, double-stack 1911s and other firearms, visit kimberamerica.com.
