Hornady Manufacturing is known for making a wide variety of firearm-related products, and has increased its offerings in shooting-related accessories and gun safes. The Nebraska-based company recently unveiled the new Hornady Dehumidifier Rod HD, which was created to offer nearly double the anti-humidity protection of traditional electric dehumidifying rods.

The new Hornady Dehumidifier Rod HD plugs into a standard 110-volt AC household GFCI outlet and employs a series of tiny heat-dispersing fins that maximize heat transfer without damaging nearby surfaces, or more importantly, without taking up any additional valuable storage safe inside a gun safe or similar residential security container.

As a Hornady-designed product, the Dehumidifier Rod HD can seamlessly integrate with Hornady’s existing line of Square Lok organization system products, but it will also work in third-party containers, safes or other storage systems. The Dehumidifier Rod HD comes in two different sizes: an 18-inch long model that covers up to 200 cubic feet or space and a 36-inch version that can handle nearly double the workload at 500 cubic feet.

Hornady Dehumidifier Rod HD Specifications and Features:

  • Uses heat-dispensing fins to neutralize localized moisture in the air

  • Fins designed for safe and efficient heat transfer; will not damage nearby surfaces

  • Natural integration with Hornady’s Square Lok organization system

  • Easy to install in a wide variety of safes and cabinets

  • Available in two different sizes depending on storage container size

  • Powered by standard 110 Volt AC power source

  • 18-inch rod: Covers spaces up to 200 cubic feet

  • 36-inch rod: Covers spaces up to 500 cubic feet
