Legacy Sports International, the importer for Citadel shotguns, has just introduced two new Citadel Boss 25 California compliant shotgun variants. These new shotguns consist of a model that’s finished with the American flag and a model that’s finished with a burnt bronze Cerakote finish.

Citadel Boss 25 shotguns are semi-automatic, 12-gauge shotguns based on the layout of the classic AR-10. Instead of a tubular magazine, they feed from a detachable-box magazine that sits in place in front of the action in a traditional magazine well.

Boss 25 Patriot Pins

One notable feature of the California-compliant Citadel Boss 25 shotguns is that they all ship with a Patriot pin. Because the Citadel Boss 25 takes after the AR-10, it also uses takedown and pivot pins to join the upper and lower halves. The strict California regulations prohibit AR-pattern firearms from having detachable magazines in certain cases, with the Citadel Boss 25 shotgun being one of them. As a result, the Patriot Pin allows the end user to separate the Boss 25’s upper and lower halves and gain access to the magazine, which is fixed in place. This facilitates reloading, especially because the magazine cannot be removed. California-compliant Boss 25 models are also legal in CT, DE, HI, IL, MA, MD, NY and NJ.
