EoTech Acquires VK Integrated Systems

EOTech has acquired VK Integrated Systems (VKIS), a Tennessee-based developer of advanced weapon electronics and battlefield networking solutions. VKIS’ list of cutting-edge products includes a Weapon Orientation Module that rides inside the backstrap of select guns. Its gyro, accelerometer and digital compass detects pitch, yaw and roll. When networked via Bluetooth with its Team Awareness Kit (TAK) it provides location of other team members, engagement direction, weapon orientation and more.

“This is a continuation of our thesis,” said Joseph Caradonna, CEO of EOTech. “We’re building an integrated, American-made platform for mission-critical awareness, where hardware, software and sensors work as one. It’s a systems architecture approach, not just a product expansion.”

Founded in 2014—with its early headquarters, research and development facilities in California—VKIS specializes in real-time warfighter technologies, including TAK-based situational awareness tools, weapon-mounted sensors and edge-computing systems. The capabilities modernize legacy systems and support U.S. efforts to digitize the battlefield. The company moved to Clarksville, TN, in 2019.

“EOTech’s scale and trust in the field make this a natural fit,” said Vasilios Kapogianis, president and CEO of VKIS. “Our mission has always been to give warfighters more awareness, more control, and more survivability. With EoTech, we can deliver that capability faster and further.”

EOTech is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2025, and the acquisition continues its expansion beyond optics into a vertically integrated, American-made platform focused on mission-ready systems. VKIS brings a variety of capabilities to the firm including weapon electronics and sensors, TAK servers, ATAK plugin development and TAK Stack, a free-use platform that simplifies access to geospatial maps, plugins and field tools.

VKIS—which will continue operations from its Clarksville, TN, headquarters—is the second major expansion for EOTech this year. The company also opened a Tech Center in Orofino, ID, in March. The 4,200-square-foot facility is a sophisticated optics lab, fully outfitted with cleanroom flow hoods, optical breadboard, collimators and tools to assemble, test and rework weapon sights and camera systems. It is also capable of small-scale machining operations, as well as inspection and more.
