We’re now in the post-SHOT cooldown, but there is still plenty to talk about: knives that came out before, as well as others that were shown off during but didn’t get their chance to shine during the big week. Case in point, this is the Lefti, a collaboration with Chuck Gedraitis with a liner lock that can be switched to the other side.

Gedraitis works in many different forms, and the Lefti sees him playing around in the modern EDC space. It’s a stout little knife, with a 2.2-inch blade that could be described either as a modified Wharncliffe, or a tweaked spear point – dealer’s choice. The steel can only be described one way, however, and that’s as 12C27N, a solid performer in the entry-level user category, with good edge retention and full stainless classification.

The handle is made from aluminum, and can support a full four-finger grip with its no-nonsense approach to ergonomics. The handle scales are green anodized aluminum, and profile is simple and squarish, sporting a finger groove that indexes the, well, index finger during use, but also provides clear access to the liner lock.

Now that liner lock is in fact the major selling point here. We’ve seen swappable pocket clips, but this is the first swappable liner lock we’ve ever come across. By removing a single screw on the handle, the locking leaf and its offside can be removed, and replaced on the opposing side. This mechanism allows the Lefti, even though it is a liner lock, to suit both righties and lefties equally well.Chuck Gedraitis’s Lefti will be available soon.
