Bond Arms Celebrates 30th Anniversary

Texas-based Bond Arms is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2025. The company has an enviable reputation for building high-quality, American-made, derringer-style pistols ideal for primary or backup self-defense duty. It also offers a variety of other guns, including a lever-action rifle and a semi-auto pistol.

It was Greg Bond—a former tool-and-die maker and engineer at Texas Instruments—who came up with the concept for the company’s first gun. His interest in small, concealable single-action handguns piqued while working with another firearm manufacturer.

His knowledge of modern manufacturing and materials, however, made it obvious to him that the original models of Old West fame were more of a single-use option. It seemed to endanger the person behind the trigger as much as the assailant.

So, he created his own design, built from stainless steel capable of handling the pressures generated by modern cartridges. Then he added a triggerguard, rebounding hammer with a half-notch position, cross-bolt safety and more. Versatility was made possible by a clever system that allowed owners to easily change barrels/chamberings.

The handgun was safer than any derringer-style before, but enthusiasm for the design was lukewarm until 1995. That’s when a financial partner entered the picture and Bond Arms was officially established in Granbury, TX—where it remains to this day.

When his brother Gordon pitched in with his marketing savvy and business knowledge, sales took off. It didn’t take long before competitors in the Single Action Shooting Society (SASS) noted the gun and began ordering.

In 2007 Gordon bought out Greg’s interest in the company. Sales continued to grow and today there are more versions, barrels and firearms in its catalog than ever before.

As part of the company’s 30th anniversary celebration it is offering up to $50 in gift card rebates on qualifying new Bond Arms firearm purchased between Nov. 1 and Nov. 31, 2025.

“This year marks a major milestone for Bond Arms, and we wanted to give something back to the customers who’ve supported us for three decades,” said Gordon Bond. “Our 30th Anniversary Rebate Special is a small way to say thank you to the firearm enthusiasts and dealers who helped make Bond Arms what it is today.”
